Parents of students in the district told News Center 7 that they received a message from the district on the school-home communication platform used by the district. They said it referred to an alleged “hit list” floating around social media.

“They did send a memo in the ParentSquare advising children not to discuss a lot of rumors and the posts that are going around,” Monica Patterson, a district parent, said. “I think they did it to make parents feel more safe and that the kids are secure at school and it wasn’t on school grounds, but it was concerning.”

Trotwood police told News Center 7 that the alleged “hit list” tried to twist recent fatal shootings to cause panic in the community.
