A public affairs officer for the Rocky Mountain National Park said at about 8 p.m. that the park’s east side from Highway 36/Spur 66 to the Beaver Meadows Entrance is closed due to the ongoing law enforcement “incident and investigation.”

Police said they were looking for a white male, approximately 5 foot, 9 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds, bald, wearing blue jeans and no shirt or shoes. He was last seen fleeing from his vehicle in RMNP south of the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center on Highway 36 toward High Drive.

Anyone who sees this person should not approach; instead, police say to call 911 immediately and avoid the area.

RMNP said the Estes Park Police Department and Larimer County Sheriff’s Office are searching for the man, but because it is an active investigation, the agencies were not providing further information.
