'She Has No Role in the Process': DeSantis Blasts Harris for Sticking Her Nose Into Milton Response

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis briefed President Biden on the fallout from Hurricane Milton on Thursday morning while also ripping Kamala Harris for her shot at him for refusing to take her call earlier in the week. A DeSantis aide said at the time that Harris’ call “seemed political.”

Gee, I wonder why? Perhaps because the Democrat presidential nominee’s call was exactly political, and would no doubt have included a photo op of the embattled nominee holding a phone.

DeSantis blasted Harris with a familiar refrain: “She doesn’t understand... [fill in the blank].”

In this case, DeSantis said Harris “doesn’t understand what it means to respond to these natural disasters.” He also accused her of playing politics with the disastrous storm. No, really? Kamala Harris playing politics?

She has no role in this process. And I’ve been dealing with these storms in Florida under both [former President Donald] Trump and [President] Biden. Neither of them ever politicized it.

The governor doubled down, throwing Harris even further under the bus.

In fact [during] all of the storms I dealt with under this administration, although I worked well with the president, she has never called … She has never offered any support. She’s trying to inject herself into this because of her political campaign.

Moreover, it couldn’t be more obvious. It’s Kamala Harris. It’s what she does, with her best effort to date being her photo-op-laden trip to the U.S.-Mexico border in late September. As my colleague Bonchie reported, Harris:

…walked around in high-heeled boots, touring the border wall she once called a “racist vanity project.” During a speech, she then proclaimed that only she would take the border seriously and had a plan to fix the ongoing crisis there. Left unsaid was that 13,000 murderers and 425,000 convicted criminals had been released into the interior by her administration.

It matters not to me what Harris wore to the border. What does matter is everything she does is staged. Toss in her multitude of flip-flops (lies about) her current positions vs. those she ran on in the 2020 Democrat primaries, and the woman could not be more dishonest fraud.

On Monday when Harris was asked about reports that DeSantis had refused to take her phone calls, the vice president does what she does best: she attacked the governor with unfounded charges.

People are in desperate need of support right now and playing political games at this moment in these crisis situations — these are the height of emergency situations — is utterly irresponsible and it is selfish.

Translation: Princess Kamala was miffed because DeSantis blew her off. Why? Because, as I wrote earlier, he correctly said “she doesn’t have a role in the process.”

DeSantis also took a well-deserved related shot at Harris on Thursday.

I don’t have time for those games. I don’t care about her campaign, obviously I’m not a supporter of hers. For her to say that my focus should be on catering to her rather than worrying about my own people just shows she doesn’t understand what it means to respond to these natural disasters.

Finally, Joe Biden — either intentionally or cluelessly — again undermined Harris, nearly bragging about DeSantis.

All I can tell you is I’ve talked to Governor DeSantis. He’s been very gracious. He thanked me for all we’ve done. He knows what we’re doing, and I think that’s important.

Ouch. I bet that left a mark on Kamala.
