Northern Beaches expert, Shane Broekman, has launched Laing+Simmons The Forest as he gets set to capitalise on the growth in the area.
The Announcement:
Laing+Simmons The Forest has just been launched, powered by life-long local agent Shane Broekman, with a view to building market share in the 2085, 2086, and 2087 postcodes – a part of Sydney he dubs “a sleeping giant”.
Mr Broekman’s local knowledge has been honed over many years focused on the Frenchs Forest, Belrose, and Davidson markets, as well as through the operation of his own Northern Beaches-based auction business.
He has not only focused his professional life in The Forest, he’s also raising his family in the local area he grew up in.
“It’s an area of the Northern Beaches I’ve always lived and worked in, but it’s undergoing fundamental change,” Mr Broekman said.
“Like other Councils, there’s a new housing target on the table.
“Rezonings have been gazetted.
“Major infrastructure investments are either newly completed or progressing, such as the new Northern Beaches Hospital, the new shopping precinct on the site of the soon-to-be-relocated The Forest High School, and the new Glenrose Village.
“This all drives interest in the local property market, which has to date been characterized predominantly by freestanding houses.
“That is changing too.
“More apartment development means more choice not only for people looking to move into this beautiful area, but also for long-term locals who want to downsize but have never really had the choice to do so.
“A change in density will lead to a change in diversity and result in a change in demographic.
“At present, the average period of ownership for a home in the area is 14 years but with more apartment choice, this could conceivably halve.
“And this could see more first home buyers have the opportunity to call the Forest home.
“An area that has been a sleeping giant for a long time is set for considerable growth.”
Laing+Simmons The Forest is part of the market-leading Laing+Simmons Narrabeen group, which has also experienced considerable growth in recent times, including through the 2024 acquisition of an additional rent roll in the local area.
Growth is now on the agenda for Laing+Simmons The Forest too.
“Both from a sales and property management perspective, the changing landscape for housing creates new opportunities for growth,” Mr Broekman said.
“In line with the Laing+Simmons people-first approach, we’re focused on broadening our reach while ensuring we always prioritize the customer experience.”
