“Sometimes the Devil will act so ugly that you have no other choice but to get violent and fight.”
Those are the chilling words of a senior pastor at Greater Second Missionary Baptist Church of Chattanooga, Tennessee, during a Sunday School morning service. The pastor, Reverend Dr. Steve A. Caudle, likened Elon Musk, President Donald Trump’s head of the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), to the Devil, as he spewed lie after lie about DOGE — and appeared to urge people to “get violent and fight.”
How pastoral.
Tennessee preacher Dr. Steve Caudle appears to call for violence against Elon Musk while spreading a rabid form of misinformation about DOGE:

Caudle insisted that “we live in a world that is very violent,” for which an argument can be made by the rational among us, but the pastor went all the way to off-the-charts delusional (emphasis, mine).
Fact of the matter is, we live in a world that is violent. You don’t believe me all you have to do is turn on the television set this afternoon and you’ll see Gaza where every building has been leveled by bombs and then shooting and killing. Children bleeding out. All you have to do is look at what’s going on in the Ukraine and it’s the same thing.
In this nation, I’m worried that we are on the verge of bloodshed. This is an attempt to take us back to a day that we do not want to go and we will not go. Therefore, there will be conflict.
No one likes violence, but sometimes violence is necessary. When Elon Musk forces his way into the U.S. Treasury and threatens to steal your personal information and your Social Security check, there is a possibility of violence.
Sometimes the devil will act so ugly that you have no other choice but to get violent and fight.
And sometimes, people like Pastor Caudle will spread such outrageous misinformation (blatant lies) that unbalanced zealots and radicalized activists will believe it and decide to take matters into their own hands.
According to Greater Second Missionary Baptist Church’s website, its mission is to:
Develop a multi-racial community church committed to the social, economic, and spiritual renewal of the Eastdale community through seed-sowing evangelism, gospel preaching, workshop education, youth mentorship, charity outreach, and justice intervention.
Setting aside the church’s mention of “justice intervention,” which means different things to different people, raise your hand if you think Pastor Caudle’s hate-filled rant and thinly veiled threats against Musk and DOGE comported with his church’s stated mission.
No raised hands. Just what I expected.

Musk responded to Caudle’s spew on Monday, simply saying in an X post:
This tells me that he is trying to hide MASSIVE fraud.
That, or maybe the good pastor just had a bad day.

If you’re of the mind to do so, you can watch Pastor Caudle’s entire remarks, below — but I’ll bet a dollar that you won’t. Make that “shouldn’t waste your time.”
