Selena Gomez and fiancé Benny Blanco are now personal and professional partners.
Gomez, 32, shared a series of photos of herself with Blanco, 36, as she announced news of her new album, I Said I Love You First, via her Instagram on Thursday, February 13.
“I always trick you guys 🥰 my NEW album I Said I Love You First with my best friend @itsbennyblanco, is out on 3/21 🖤,” Gomez captioned the post. “Our first song, Scared of Loving You is out now on all streaming platforms. Merchandise and signed products for the album are available for pre-order now. We can’t wait to share this special project with you soon!”
The new release comes one year after the singer last dropped music. Her most recent single, “Love On,” dropped in February 2024 following 2023 hits “Single Soon” and “Calm Down.”
Gomez and Blanco started off as friends while working together in 2015 on her songs “Same Old Love” and “Kill Em With Kindness” for her Revival album.
Years later, in July 2023, rumors began to swirl that romantic sparks were flying between the pair when Gomez, Blanco and Paris Hilton posed for a photo together.
Gomez confirmed the relationship in December 2023 via an Instagram comment.
“He is my absolute everything in my heart,” she wrote at the time. “He [has] been the best thing that’s ever happened to me. The end. … He’s still better than anyone I’ve been with. Facts.”
After one year of dating, the couple announced their engagement in December 2024.
“Forever begins now,” Gomez captioned an Instagram post that showed off her engagement ring. For his part, Blanco wrote in the comments section, “Hey wait… that’s my wife.”
As well as her music pursuits, Gomez juggles a successful film and TV career, acting in Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building and one of this year’s Oscar favorites Emilia Pérez.
Last year, Gomez claimed that she wasn’t rushing back into the studio and opened up about the toll juggling both music and acting can take.
“The older I get, the more I’m kind of like, ‘I would like to find something to just settle on,’” she explained on the “SmartLess” podcast in January 2024. “I do feel like I have one more album in me, but I would probably choose acting.”
She added: “You’re right [I don’t have to choose between the two], but I am going to want to chill, because I’m tired.”
Gomez dropped her first solo record in 2013 and was later nominated for a Grammy Award for her fourth EP, Revelación, which was up for Best Latin Pop Album in 2022. The award ultimately went to Alex Cuba for Mendó.
