Colliers has appointed Scott Orchard as National Director of Office Capital Markets & Investment Services for Victoria, strengthening their presence in the Melbourne market.

Mr Orchard joins Colliers with more than two decades of commercial property experience, having previously held leadership positions at CBRE in Melbourne and started his career at Cushman & Wakefield in New York.

His expertise spans office building sales, commercial investments, and development sites in Melbourne’s city fringe and metro markets, with a particular focus on insolvency and receivership sales.

In Spring 2024, Mr Orchard achieved over $100 million in unconditional city fringe and metropolitan office sales within just 10 weeks, completing five notable transactions despite challenging market conditions.

His track record includes several significant deals, such as the National Archives of Australia building in Burwood East for $32 million and 545 Blackburn Road, Mount Waverley for $60.25 million.

Matthew Meynell, Managing Director, Office Capital Markets & Investment Services Australia, said he was excited about the appointment.

“Scott will play a pivotal role within our Victorian team, as he will help drive and lead the collaboration between office capital markets and the investment services experts,” Mr Meynell said.

“His expertise in the office sector will be crucial as we enhance our capabilities and expand our presence across all Melbourne metro markets.”

In his new role, Mr Orchard will also lead the Restructuring Property Services offering in Victoria, working from both the Melbourne CBD and Melbourne East offices.

Rob Joyes, State Chief Executive Victoria, welcomed the appointment.

“We are thrilled to welcome Scott to the team,” Mr Joyes said. “His extensive experience and proven track record in the office sector will be invaluable in adding further fire power to an already dominant office leasing and sales team across the Metropolitan markets in Victoria.”

Mr Orchard said he was looking forward to the new opportunity.

“I am greatly excited to join Colliers and combine my experience and skill sets to their impressive platform,” Mr Orchard said.

“The opportunity to lead and expand the Restructuring Property Services offering in Victoria is also exciting, particularly as some parts of the market continue to face headwinds despite improved sentiment.”
