Despite Bryson DeChambeau’s U.S. Open win Sunday, the golfer will not be on the U.S. team for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris this summer as he did not obtain enough points in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR). Instead, Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark and Collin Morikawa will represent the U.S.

Based on the Olympic qualification process, the top 15 golfers in the OWGR are eligible for the Games with a maximum of four players eligible from a single country.

Players outside the top 15 are eligible based on Olympic Golf Rankings with a maximum of two eligible players per country, so long as that country does not already have two or more players among the top 15.

Scheffler is currently ranked No. 1 in the OWGR, while Schauffele is No. 3, Clark is No. 5 and Morikawa is No. 7. They’re the four highest-ranked U.S. players in the OWGR.

As of Monday, DeChambeau is No. 10 in the OWGR. DeChambeau competed on the LIV Golf tour, meaning he does not receive OWGR points for those events. Still, DeChambeau put up impressive performances in majors, including a T6 finish at the Masters, a second-place finish at the PGA Championship and his win Sunday.

The U.S. Open marked the final event before Monday’s deadline for the Olympics qualifying period. The 2024 Games are set to be held at Le Golf National on Aug. 1-4.
