As a beauty writer, I love finding products that simplify my makeup routine. From SPF sprays that make reapplication a breeze to fluffy falsies, I’m all about looking good in a hurry. Last month, I tested the Velour x Carolina Gonzalez Beauty Self-Stick Lash Clusters — and they changed the game.
A collaboration between Velour Beauty and Carolina Gonzalez (who just so happens to be Sabrina Carpenter‘s makeup artist), these go on in no-time. Best of all? They stay on even when my eyes tear from frosty New York City Winds. Not only did I get to test the lashes, but Gonzalez actually put them on me and spilled the tea on the best way to apply them.
Ready to unlock the cheat code to flawless falsies? The pro MUA has a fool-proof method that gets the job done in no time. First things first, she recommends holding a compact mirror that allows you to see underneath your lashes. Depending on your preference, Gonzalez suggests using an applicator or freshly washed and dried fingers to “Place the cluster at the root of your natural lash.”
Her biggest tip? Placement. Keeping the lash at the root of your lash delivers a seamless application. It also makes for pain-free wear. Say goodbye to discomfort from bands that poke and prod. Best of all? Beauty mavens with sensitive eyes, don’t have to worry about the irritation from the lashes leading to tears and streaky makeup.
The formula is the true star of the show. Tired of clumpy lash glue taking forever to dry? No problem! Made from premium-grade fibers, these self-stick lashes are a mess-free alternative. They deliver the benefits of fluffy falsies without the drama of applying sticky adhesive that often dries down in thick layers.
The lashes come in three different lash lengths in clusters of two. Gonzalez suggests creating a customized look based on your preferred style. For more natural lashes, she suggests applying single clusters that start “two or three” lashes into your lash line. Want to turn things up a few notches? She suggests stacking clusters underneath each other for dramatic looks, similar to the one she styles on Carpenter. Gonzalez used a similar technique for me.
Once you get the lashes placed along your lash line, press the clusters between your real lashes to make sure they’re secure. Lastly, she recommends applying mascara to the lashes that are free of falsies for an even look and you’re good to go.
Whether you’re a lash newbie or a tried and true beauty buff, you can simplify your makeup routine with the help of these self-stick lash clusters. No more hassle or mess. Just a short ‘n sweet application!
