Upon returning to Austin after a dazzling sojourn through India, Annie Downing began sketching from the art books and textiles she carried home with her. These casual illustrations, among others spawned from trips to Istanbul and Mexico City, sparked the AD PRO Directory designer’s debut wallpaper collection. Printed on textural grasscloth and fibrous non-woven paper, the punchy and retro-hued patterns depict large-scale olives, atomic stripes, and Pop Art-style depictions of the hypnotic lotus.

Tulip’s Eva Joan lighting collection is tailor-made

Eva Joan #5/30 in Gem Patchwork, 2024

Since 2021, scores of nostalgic customers have found an upcycling respite at Eva Joan, the unconventional alteration shop salvaging beloved garments with patches and embroidery in New York’s West Village. Founders Bjorn Eva Park and Emma Villeneuve have now partnered with Tulip to present a limited-edition of hand-numbered lampshades. Doubling as works of art, these one-of-a-kind designs are delicate and detailed, employing lace, ribbon, and patchworks of fabric to create cascading hand-stitched vines and squiggles, among other motifs. The collection drops on December 11—grab yours before all 30 are gone.

AD PRO Hears…

…It’s game on for New York designer Sasha Bikoff, who has teamed up with gaming furniture maker Elevate Customs to craft some fun competition. Sleek, linear match silhouettes take a confectionery turn with Bon Bon, Bikoff’s colorful and plump assortment, available in indoor-outdoor tables for playing pool, ping pong, backgammon, and mahjong.

…On the heels of her show A Better Place To Be at Brooklyn’s Picture Room gallery, designer Analuisa Corrigan has launched the Cocktail collection of ceramic lighting, within which ruffled hems, orthogonal lines, and a striking monochrome palette recall Jazz-era aesthetics.

…Faye Toogood’s Puffy series, in collaboration with Hem, has a new addition: The compact 2.5-seater sofa is crafted with the same comfortable quilting, available in thick canvas or leather upholstery.

…Following a summer preview in New York, British architect and interior designer Ashley Hicks’s Gemstone series of geologically-informed resin mirrors, chandeliers and more is available for purchase through R & Company.

…After launching this spring, hardware trove Petra has tapped some of the industry’s top talents to design idiosyncratic styles—and this season sees three more: the Lacrima knob by UBR Studio, the Mama collection from Known Work, and the Shepherd’s Hook door handle by AD PRO Directory member Office of Tangible Space.
