Teddi Mellencamp and Edwin Arroyave were married for 13 years before they separated.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, who is one of the children of singer John Mellencamp, first met Arroyave in a Hollywood nightclub in 2009.
“I was tricked a little bit because when I first saw Edwin, he had a beanie cap on,” Teddi recalled to Yahoo! Lifestyle in 2019. “And then when I saw him the next morning, the beanie was off and there was a ponytail hanging out the back. I thought after that night that that was just one of those [stories] that you tell your girlfriends, ‘Maybe I’ll hang out with him one more time.’”
Teddi continued hanging out with Arroyave for two years before they wed in her native Indiana. The pair later welcomed daughters Slate and Dove, as well as son Cruz. (Arroyave is also father to eldest daughter Isabella, from a previous relationship.)
After 13 years of marriage and Arroyave supporting Teddi amid her recurring skin cancer battle, they went their separate ways.
“After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” Teddi wrote via Instagram in November 2024. “My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter.”

Teddi and Arroyave’s first child together, daughter Slate, arrived one year after their wedding.
“From the moment you were born, we knew you were an angel on earth. And as you continue to grow (a teenager next year!), you prove that you are destined for the greatest of great things,” Teddi wrote in 2024, celebrating Slate’s 12th birthday. “And you do it all with a warmth, a kindness, and a loving glow that makes everybody who knows you better because of it.”
August 2014
Slate became a big sister in 2014 when the couple welcomed son Cruz. Due to a heart condition, Cruz spent time in a hospital NICU.
December 2017
Teddi received a RHOBH diamond during season 8 of the Bravo hit, which caused issues in her marriage.
“When we first started, I remember my first day honestly it was like ‘F—, at what point do I tell everybody that I’m getting a divorce? Like when do I do this?’” Teddi recalled during a March 2023 episode of her “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast. “We are at our worst absolute phase, because truthfully, for us, it was really about a power struggle.”
She added, “We were always kind of equals when we were together. I rode horses, I was competitive and I was all these things. Then I couldn’t get pregnant naturally, I did all these IVFs. Then, all of a sudden, he was in charge of our finances, and I had never been that. I never not had my own money, I had been working since I was 17. Then I just started hating him.”
She was ultimately let go by Bravo after season 10, but occasionally made guest appearances as a “friend.”
February 2020
Us Weekly broke the news in September 2019 that Teddi was pregnant again after undergoing IVF. Daughter Dove arrived on February 25, shortly before being diagnosed with lambdoid craniosynostosis that required neurosurgery.
July 2023
Through the years, Teddi and Arroyave shared candid updates on their family and relationship via social media.
“When was the last time you really told your significant other exactly what you want and need? I often times don’t and then let things build up and fester,” Teddi wrote via Instagram in July. “I mean aren’t our people mind readers? Can’t they tell what my heavy annoyed breathing means? The answer is no.”
She continued, “I tried out being 100 percent direct with @tedwinator yesterday for my birthday and guess what — it worked like a charm. I said:’ You can work until 11 a.m. while I take the kids riding. After we get back I want a date of my favorite things.’ … Long story short: Marriage isn’t easy and we all have high highs and low lows but if we are vulnerable and open up, it can lead to one of the best days you have had in a long time.”
October 2024
Teddi was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2022, later chairing a Cure Melanoma gala to raise awareness and funds.
“I always say life and pain are inseparable and to see @teddimellencamp embrace her pain and use it for the greater good again last night as she emceed the @curemelanoma gala, was a beautiful reminder of what she is capable of,” Arroyave wrote via Instagram on October 25. “Her story has already saved lives. And I couldn’t be prouder that she will continue to save more. Love you, Teds.”
November 2024
Exactly one week after Arroyave’s praise-filled social media tribute, Teddi confirmed her intentions to file for divorce.
Teddi wrote via Instagram, “Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do, but in an effort to protect my family from undue speculation and rumors, I felt being open, honest and vulnerable was the best path forward.”
