Real Madrid defender Ferland Mendy is set for a spell on the sidelines.
Mendy sustained the injury during his side’s Champions League last-16 victory over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
The left-back appeared to pick up the muscular injury as he passed the ball back to goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in the 83rd minute.
The 29-year-old immediately signaled to the Madrid physios that he had sustained the injury and was replaced by Fran Garcia.

Madrid confirmed on Thursday that the France international had suffered the muscular injury.
The full-back is set to miss Saturday’s La Liga trip to Villarreal, while Carlo Ancelotti’s side will return from the international break with a home game against Leganes on March 29.
Madrid then have the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final against Real Sociedad, which they lead 1-0, before hosting Valencia on the weekend of 5-6 April and travelling to Arsenal for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on April 8.
Mendy has made 30 appearances in all competitions this campaign, 11 of those coming in the Champions League.
Since he joined Real in 2019 from Lyon, he has frequently suffered recurring injuries that have made him miss extended spells.
