Olivia Rodrigo is seemingly still feeling “so American” next to boyfriend Louis Partridge — especially during their most recent New York City date.
Rodrigo and Partridge, both 21, were spotted enjoying a romantic stroll around Greenwich Village on Friday, January 17. The actor was seen walking alongside Rodrigo, wrapping an arm around her lower back.
Both the Grammy winner and Partridge dressed casually for the outing. Rodrigo sported a striped shirt underneath a quilted black coat with blue trousers and a pair of sunglasses. Partridge, meanwhile, opted for a black buttoned jacket and khakis.
The couple have been dating since fall 2023 after they were spotted packing on the PDA in Partridge’s native London. Since then, the couple have kept their romance relatively low-key and out of the public eye.

“Dating probably shouldn’t be done in the public eye,” Partridge told British Vogue in a March 2024 profile. “There’s enough going on between two people. You don’t need the voices of thousands of others in your head. I think she’s got it a lot worse than I have. I can be a bit of a normal person. She’s got tons and tons of eyes on her case.”
He added at the time, “If there’s a load of people nattering in a room about you, you can choose to put your ear to the door to hear what they say or not. I think you’re probably better off not letting curiosity get the better of you.”
Partridge has since been a staple at Rodrigo’s concerts in the United States and across the pond. She’s returned the favor by supporting his career achievements when they made their red carpet debut at the August 2024 premiere of his show Disclaimer during the Venice International Film Festival.
Fans have also speculated that Rodrigo’s song “So American” was written about Partridge.
“And he laughs at all my jokes / And he says I’m so American / Oh God, it’s just not fair of him / To make me feel this much,” Rodrigo sings on the song, which she dropped in March 2024 on her album Guts. “I’d go anywhere he goes / And he says I’m so American /Oh God, I’m gonna marry him / If he keeps this s— up.”
Rodrigo famously opts against naming her songwriting muses — including on 2021’s “Drivers License,” which was heavily rumored to be about her ex Joshua Bassett — and Partridge has done the same.
“Not my song, not my place,” the British star succinctly told Elle in October 2024. “So, I wouldn’t know.”
