Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-GA) has taken plenty of criticism recently over her threats to attempt to unseat House Speaker Mike Johnson, but she appeared on “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo and sounded a defiant tone, saying the American people were behind her.
Bartiromo started things off by sharply questioning the Georgia Republican’s actions:
“You’re getting criticized on the left, on the right, in the media, a lot of people are criticizing you. And the reason that they are is because they’re saying that you’re creating drama during this election year,” Bartiromo said.
“How is this leading to reelecting President Trump? How is this leading to the American people believing that the Republicans can govern? People are saying, ‘Look, she’s creating chaos. She’s making the entire party look like it’s disrupted.’ Your reaction and response to those criticisms?”
Greene was unbowed and complained that a “uniparty” controls Washington and the American people are sick of it—especially Republicans.
“Those that are calling this ‘drama’ are the very people that are responsible for the drama that the American people are having to live through every single day.”
She continued, “The people criticizing me are not the American people. The American people agree with me, and I’ve talked to them, and I’ve seen it all over. They are outraged, and what they’re saying is they don’t want to vote for Republicans anymore … The Republican Party in charge right now, it’s no different than the Democrat party.”

He betrayed us on fully funding Biden’s DOJ. And Mike Johnson did it all by working with the Democrats. It’s time for him to resign, so Republicans can elect a Speaker who will work for our party.
Bartiromo asked Greene why she didn’t file a motion to vacate the Speaker’s chair after the House on Saturday approved more foreign aid—$95 billion worth, with $60 billon going to Ukraine.
“I’ve been responsible with this the entire time. I support our majority, and I support having the majority in 2025,” Greene said.
But Greene wasn’t shy about expressing her displease with the bill, since—among other things—it did nothing to solve the crisis at the southern border:
“And then once this bill was passed, the American people saw on their television screens and social media all over where Congress was waving the Ukrainian flag on the United States House of Representatives floor. All of this was possible because of the betrayals of Mike Johnson,” she said.
