Where the main house leans rustic and raw, the guest cottages lean Scandinavian-inspired, with crisp white walls, whitewashed wood floors, and textured accents. Early 20th-century stained glass graces the windows in one cottage; another similar structure offers a secluded bluestone patio and private shower. Whimsical color choices enliven the kitchens and bathrooms in both cottages, with mint and mauve cabinetry and blue Zia tile. The barn is an ideal spot for large gatherings—dare we call it a party barn?—with radiant concrete flooring making it cozy even in cooler months.

“From start to finish, The Compound at Breezy Hill was a labor of love,” Leonard said in a statement about the project, his first professional renovation. “It took two years, over 100,000 combined labor-hours, and several million dollars to complete. But for all involved, it truly was the collaboration of a lifetime.”

American Pie’s Seann William Scott lists Venice home for $4.9 million

Seann William Scott, the actor many know as Stifler for his work in the iconic American Pie movies, has listed his Venice Beach property. Just a five-minute drive from the oddities and entertainment of the Venice Boardwalk, the compact lot includes two structures, the older of which is a single-story 1,300-square-foot bungalow. Designed by architect Kevin Mulcahy, the 2,400-square-foot all-glass building on the back of the lot is the primary dwelling.

Scott spent seven years renovating both structures, living in one while work was completed in the other, according to Bloomberg. His aim in the renovation was to make the two buildings, which were previously in different styles, complement one another. While working on the property, he met interior designer Olivia Scott. The pair got married and subsequently worked on the design together. Both spaces now balance industrial materials with wood and stone accents that warm up the spaces. “I don’t think people who know my work would imagine I’m a design nerd, but I am,” Scott told Bloomberg.
