New Congresswoman Not Allowed to Use Women's Bathroom

Delaware lawmaker Sarah McBride made history when she was elected to Congress this fall. She’s the first openly transgender person to be elected to the House of Representatives. Last week, Republican House member Nancy Mace from South Carolina introduced a bill that would ban people on federal property from using bathrooms and locker rooms that don’t correspond to the sex they were assigned at birth. That means McBride would have to use the men’s bathroom in Congress.
