A revolutionary new construction system is promising to cut building times by nearly half, with the first Victorian prototype launching in Ormond this month.

Builder, AltForm’s patented building system will showcase dual townhouses starting at $2.5 million each, using prefabricated components that are ready to assemble.

Each component arrives on-site prefabricated and predrilled, designed to fit like a puzzle.

The innovative approach allows single-storey homes to be completed within 10 to 15 days, while two-storey homes take just 20 to 25 days to construct.

Executive General Manager Tony Phillips said the system represents a significant advancement in construction methods.

“This is a really powerful moment, not just for the Ormond project, but for what AltForm represents,” Mr Phillips said.

The building system also addresses environmental issues through its zero-waste approach, with all components designed for reuse.

“The construction industry is one of our country’s largest contributors to waste,” Mr Phillips said.

“Our system is a zero-waste product that puts significant emphasis on reuse.

“Even our delivery stillages are reused.”

The company has already completed its first prototype in Eastlakes, New South Wales, delivering a four-bedroom family home.

“We’ve always believed that housing should be more than just a roof over your head, it should be a space that improves quality of life while adapting to the needs of every client,” he said.

Following its Victorian launch, AltForm plans to expand its rapid housing solutions across Australia and globally.

“The future for AltForm and our partners is limitless as we continue to innovate, scale and drive the next generation of housing solutions globally,” Mr Phillips said.
