Billionaire Mark Cuban, the minority owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, has gone all in on Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, but some of his reasoning is utterly bizarre. He basically says “he’s fine” that the VP hasn’t offered any specificity to her economic proposals—he’s sure they’ll be just great. Listening to his word dances was like watching a human trying to stretch themselves into a living pretzel.

It brings to mind Nancy Pelosi’s famous line, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.” We need to vote Harris into office, then we’ll find out what she really supports.

Cuban also insisted we don’t even need to worry about Harris’ stated goal of taxing unrealized gains because he doesn’t believe she’ll actually do it. Now there’s a strong slogan: “Vote for Kamala because she won’t enact the policies she says she will!”

Pretty much everything he said during his Thursday appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” was absolute nonsense.

Watch:

This is gibberish:

The interview took a turn when Cuban was asked about the Biden administration’s proposal – which the Harris campaign has indicated it supports – to tax investment returns that have not yet been realized.

Cuban said he disagreed with the premise of taxing unrealized gains, but insisted that it would not happen under a Harris presidency. He said the Harris campaign is using the Biden tax plan as a “starting point,” but that it’s “not necessarily her ending point.”

We’re less than two months away from an all-important election, and she hasn’t reached her ending point yet? You have to be kidding me.

Cuban first eviscerated the idea of an unrealized gains tax—but then continued to defend Kamala. Wha…?

The obvious problem with Cuban’s bizarre defense: Harris is on record saying she supports a 25 percent unrealized gains tax. You’re really asking us to just disregard her policy?

Reports from The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times have said that Harris supports the tax increases put forth by President Biden in his recent budget proposal. This, according to Harris’ campaign, includes a 25% tax on unrealized capital gains for individuals with more than $100 million in wealth, and an increased corporate tax rate from 21% to 28%. The move to tax unrealized gains is in line with the Biden-Harris administration’s promise to raise taxes on the wealthy and corporations.

His lamest moment came, though when he insisted that we should ignore the fact that her economic vision is as clear as muddy water:

“This is not [a] number one priority for her, it’s not, in terms of speaking about it and getting the word out. She wanted to talk about entrepreneurs, startups, founders first,” he said. “The people like me in my position, we’re not at the top of the list. We’re closer to the bottom, so we’re not going to get that full, detailed disclosure first, and I’m okay with that.”

This is high-level sycophancy coming from a supposedly smart man. As host Rebecca Quick smartly pointed out, voters shouldn’t have to “trade on what we think and what we feel.”

Now why would Cuban prattle on so foolishly on national TV and make ludicrous arguments supporting a deeply flawed political candidate? Because he wants  a job in a Harris administration, of course. Ohhhh.
