Leicester City should have their No 1 Mads Hermansen back from injury for the trip to Everton on Saturday.
The Danish goalkeeper has been out with a groin injury that forced him off at half-time of the 4-0 defeat at Newcastle United on December 14.
Initially, Danny Ward took his place but was then replaced by Polish keeper Jakub Stolarczyk for the last seven games. While Stolarczyk was excellent in last week’s 2-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur, making a number of crucial saves, the return of Hermansen will be a big boost to Leicester.
“Mads was part of team training this week, so he’s making good progress and all being well, he’s available for selection on Saturday,” manager Ruud van Nistelrooy confirmed at a news conference on Thursday.
“It’s good news to have him back for the team selection. Every player that’s back and can help the team is, is a big one in, in Mad’s case as well.
“I have to say Jakub has done an excellent job coming in from day one at Liverpool on Boxing Day. He has had an excellent run and showed the progression he’s made into a proper Premier League keeper. So we’re also very happy that we’ve developed him over these games.”
