Alex Brown and Madison Errichiello briefly tried to make their relationship work after leaving the Love Is Blind pods single.
“We talked when we got out of the pods,” Alex, 29, said on the Thursday, February 20, episode of “The Viall Files” podcast. “We got back to Minneapolis and we did talk for a brief period of time, I would say, and then the same issues kept coming up and we realized, again, that we were communicating differently and then we decided to go our separate ways.”
Alex and Madison, 28, sparked an instant connection inside the Love Is Blind pods in spring 2024, which started airing on Netflix earlier this month. At the same time, Madison also had a deep bond with fellow contestant Mason Horachek despite his own blossoming romance with Meg Fink. The foursome all left the experiment single without ever meeting face-to-face.
For Alex, he immediately wanted to seek out Madison upon going home to the Twin Cities.
“Basically, the shuttle that took us to the airport, I was sitting there alone. We got our phones back and so I turned it on … [and] immediately I went and looked her up on Instagram ‘cause obviously,” Alex recalled to podcast host Nick Viall. “So, I saw her for the first time on Instagram and then we met at the airport afterward. It was such a crazy experience just to put a face to the voice.”

Alex did note he had a “good relationship” with Madison and they had “a lot of fun” together before he ultimately realized that they weren’t a match.
“At the end, I realized it wasn’t going work, so I cut it off and [have] no hard feelings about it,” Alex said. “The main concern — that was shown [in the episodes] — was the lack of communication. I think we both have different communication styles, and I was trying to get ahead of that because I’ve had issues with that in the past.”
Alex further claimed that “the Mason situation” — namely the love triangle drama — also proved that they weren’t on the same page.

“How that was handled just didn’t really sit right with me,” he alleged. “As someone who was bullied, I feel like there was a little bit of bullying going on there with Mason and I don’t think that was rightfully placed on him. There was maybe a little more negativity than what was shown from Madison and that’s why I kept pushing back.”
Madison, for her part, has since asserted in multiple interviews and social media posts that she wasn’t caught off guard by Alex ending their relationship after she wasn’t ready to say, “I love you.”
Neither Madison nor Alex have regrets about their pod journey with the realtor also forming several tight friendships with other castmates.
“Mason and I are really close still, so, we’ve traveled quite a bit together,” Alex added on Thursday. “Meg and I are also close, and all the guys I consider them brothers at this point. I love them so much. They’re all such great people.”
Love Is Blind is currently streaming on Netflix. New episodes drop weekly.
