Today’s game sees Xabi Alonso return to Liverpool. The Spaniard made 210 appearances for Liverpool in a spell from 2004 to 2009, helping them to win the 2005 Champions League.

He has gone on to enjoy great success as a manager, first at Real Sociedad B before he steered Leverkusen to an unprecedented unbeaten domestic double last season.
