Lipton Hard Iced Tea is taking its 2025 Groundhog Day celebrations to the next level — literally.
Ahead of the Sunday, February 2, holiday, the drink company is taking their larger than life “Can Daddy” groundhog statue on the road. The nine-foot-tall celebratory sculpture is made of 6,000 cans of Lipton Hard Ice Tea’s fan-favorite Citrus Green Tea flavor.
Fans over the age of 21 can check out “Can Daddy” in person and pregame the holiday with free drink samples at several stops in Punxsutawney Phil’s home state of Pennsylvania. The statue will drop by The Curry Hollow Shopping Center in Pittsburgh from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET on Friday, January 31. “Can Daddy” will later take center stage at the corner of Maple St. & Willow Ave. in Indiana, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, February 1, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
Those unable to visit “Can Daddy” IRL can still join in on the fun by entering Lipton Hard Iced Tea’s Groundhog Day Flyaway vacation sweepstakes. Fans can enter to win $5,000 to use toward a warm-weather vacation of their choice for themselves and one guest via Lipton Hard Iced Tea’s website. Submissions for the sweepstakes close after Groundhog Day comes to an end on Sunday.
In addition to winning a tropical getaway, fans can also enter to win the “Can Daddy” statue. To join the “Can Daddy” giveaway sweepstakes, tea lovers can visit @liptonhardtea on Instagram and comment “Groundhog.”
Joining in on the Groundhog Day fun is none other than America’s favorite internet-famous groundhog, Chunk the Groundhog. Just as Punxsutawney Phil will predict when spring will arrive, the adorable viral animal will decide which Lipton Hard Iced Tea flavor is his favorite — Lemon, Strawberry, Peach or Citrus Green Tea.
