Born from the Sydney-based artist and designer’s paintings, they highlight a vibrant fusion of sculptural forms and geometric stripes that build upon her background as a graphic designer and art director.
…Olive Ateliers, the LA home decor destination known for its star-studded following, has unveiled a permanent e-commerce platform—meaning no more having to save the date for its buzzy product drops. The revamped e-commerce platform is now teeming with in-house furniture designs as well as their fan-favorite global finds, including antique Greek oil jars, benches sculpted from Indonesian onyx, and reclaimed elm stools crafted in China.

Stephan Jones introduces Angelenos to the curated world of Stock Studio

In 2020, designer Stephan Jones opened the doors to his LA studio, but it wasn’t long before the airy West Hollywood storefront organically morphed into an unofficial showroom brimming with Jones’s vintage treasures. The community’s interest in these rare pieces signaled a new direction for Jones, and last year he rebranded his eponymous practice into the more expansive Stock Studio, snatching up the larger space next door to house an industrial-tinged concept store of the same name with skylights and concrete floors. Currently in preview (it officially opens July 12), the showroom is packed with furniture and objects, many of them from Europe, like a pair of 1950s French woven bamboo armchairs. The addition of such items as Hu/bstudio’s hand-poured candles and ceramics by Lee Kawasaki and Lukas Weyandt also reflect Jones’s mission to champion local artists.
Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center makes its buzzy debut in New York
The West Village always provides a colorful backdrop for NYC Pride festivities, and this year was no exception. The neighborhood hosted the star-studded arrival of the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center (SNMVC) on June 28, the 55-year anniversary of the Stonewall riots. A project of Pride Live, a social advocacy organization that advances LGBTQIA+ equality through community engagement, SNMVC recounts the Stonewall legacy through tours, lectures, and exhibitions. Six years in the making, the first LGBTQIA+ visitor center within the National Park Service was conceived by a team of design experts. Managed by Parente Development and overseen by local firm EDG Architecture + Engineering, the landmark 2,100-square-foot space is buoyed by Orsman Design’s architectural lighting scheme, Local Projects’ experiential storytelling, infrastructure support from WB Engineers + Consultants and HMBA, and expertise provided by longtime Pride Live supporters and AD100 designers Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent.

Delta Air Lines launches a jet-setting collaboration with Italy’s luxury Missoni house

Late last month, Delta One—Delta Airlines’s premium tier—announced a new partnership with Italian luxury purveyor Missoni. To kick things off, the two brands collaborated on a Missoni-designed amenities kit for Delta One guests, launching mid-July, which sports an exclusive Missoni zigzag inspired by the view at 30,000 feet. Delta One passengers can also anticipate Missoni sleeping accessories on their flights, as well as a plethora of snazzy Missoni home products within the just-opened Delta One luxury lounge at JFK.
