Hip-hop sensation Kendrick Lamar is poised to acquire a breathtaking Brentwood estate for more than US$40 million.

According to Mansion Global, the transaction is set to be one of the most expensive in the city this year, despite a cooling in ultra-luxury sales following the implementation of a hefty property tax on large transactions last year.

The sprawling estate last sold for US$19.5 million in 2019, is being offloaded by a trust linked to Viet Dinh and his wife, Jennifer Ashworth Dinh.

The property, known as Eagleview, was not officially on the market when Lamar made his bid.

The last public listing from 2019 details a magnificent 1485sq m mansion sitting on nearly an acre of land.

It boasts an array of luxurious amenities including an eight-bedroom main house, a state-of-the-art wine cellar, a fully equipped gym, a sparkling pool, and a charming guesthouse.

This purchase aligns Lamar with a growing list of celebrities and affluent individuals investing in Brentwood, a neighbourhood celebrated for its exclusivity, scenic beauty, and proximity to Los Angeles’ cultural and business hubs.

Despite recent market fluctuations, the area continues to attract high-net-worth buyers seeking luxurious, private residences.
