We’ve been reporting on the breath of fresh air that is White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, because after surviving the ineptitude and arrogance of Biden PressSecs Jen Psaki (now an MSNBC flack) and the sneering Karine Jean-Pierre, it’s nice to see a smiling young face at the podium who actually knows her facts.

And she takes guff from no one, as she has repeatedly proven. She did it again Tuesday when she sliced and diced Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for his depraved take on the Toronto jet crash, which was terrifying but miraculously led to no deaths.

It’s Trump’s fault, the clueless septuagenarian senator who has haunted the halls of Congress for almost three decades opined on social media:

What a despicable take. First of all, the accident just happened Monday, and investigations are ongoing. It certainly doesn’t look like it had anything to do with air traffic controllers—it appears as if the plane simply came in too hard, and as RedState’s Bonchie noted, failed to flare upon landing. In any case, we don’t know the facts yet, and to imply that a U.S. president is responsible for a crash on foreign soil when he hasn’t even been in office for a month is beyond the pale.

Leavitt let him have it during an interview on Fox News’ “America Reports” Tuesday:

“It’s incredibly irresponsible for Chuck Schumer to say such a thing when the investigation is still underway,” Leavitt said.

Leavitt repeatedly pushed back against the senator and dissected his claims. She began by noting that Canadian air-traffic controllers were responsible for directing the plane at the time of the crash.

The tenacious press secretary wasn’t done with Chuck:

Speaking to “America Reports” co-anchor John Roberts, she said, “And as you rightfully pointed out, John, this crash unfortunately took place in Canadian airspace with Canadian air-traffic controllers overseeing it.”

She then disputed the point about Trump firing FAA officials. “And the facts about the FAA are that no air-traffic controllers have been let go by Secretary Duffy or this new administration. In fact, Secretary Duffy has put great emphasis on hiring the best and the brightest air-traffic controllers who want to be part of the FAA,” she argued.

She went on to point out that the focus of the Trump administration would be on excellence and safety—two things the Biden team forgot about in their quest to inject left-wing politics into virtually every aspect of American life:

“And President Trump signed a very strong executive order to ensure that the FAA and all federal government agencies are focused on merit and skill-based hiring,” she continued. “We want the best and the brightest, the most competent individuals in positions especially of public safety at the FAA, the Department of Transportation, and all departments across this federal government, so we can best serve the American people.”

Leavitt concluded her point by accusing former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg and the Biden administration of having “sat on their hands when it came to aviation safety for four years.”

There’s a lesson to be learned here, one that the Democrats and the media keep learning the hard way: Don’t cross Karoline Leavitt.
