Vice President Kamala Harris had a Univision town hall on Thursday that covered a variety of topics.
It was a complete mess. I don’t think it went better than any of her other interviews in this spate of media things that she has been doing. Once again, she didn’t provide any solid answers about the economy or her plans, and lied her head off about her opponent, former President Donald Trump. So, if the point is that she’s supposed to be clarifying her positions with these media events, she’s not really achieving that goal. And many thought she may have had a little help, as I will explain shortly.
Since it was Kamala Harris, there was an immediate question if she would pull out yet another one of her ever-shifting accents to pander to the particular audience.
Many thought she was trying out a Spanish accent here.
She also treated the audience to a “leadership” word salad about the hurricanes.
She said, “The crisis that we have just experienced and the ongoing effect of it because of these hurricanes is an example of the importance of having leadership at a moment of crisis who understands their role and responsibility.”
The people did not look convinced.
She claimed it was “not a time to play politics.”
But she’s the one who has been playing politics, attacking people for questioning the government’s response, calling it “misinformation,” and trying to pick a fight with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. As DeSantis explained, this was the first time he’d ever heard from her in relation to a storm in his state. Are they really going to attack the people who say they haven’t gotten the help they need yet and call that misinformation? Really not a good look.
Harris claimed that the first bill they offered Congress was a bill to “fix” the immigration system.
No, the first thing they did was break the border security that former President Donald Trump put in place. That’s why the illegal entries skyrocketed after that. And an amnesty bill doesn’t help secure the border. She’s had the power to fix it, she’s in office now, she just hasn’t had the will.
She claimed they needed to put “resources into fentanyl.”
But it’s because she and Biden broke the border that so much fentanyl has come in. They’ve endangered Americans and enriched the cartels with their failures.
She claimed she would put her “record” up against anyone, “I will put my record up against anyone in terms of the work I have always done and will always do to ensure we have a secure border.”
Her “record” is a historic level of illegal aliens entering the country, with her asserting for three years that the border was “secure” as the crisis continued. How can she say that when she has absolutely no credibility on the issue at all?
Her answers as to grocery prices and inflation were pitiful. One woman outlined how she had to pay $100 more every week for groceries. Plus, paying more for everything else, including clothes. She asked what Kamala was going to do to help the middle class. That almost sounded like it was tailored for Harris’ worn-out response that she was “born in the middle class.” Of course, she went right there.
This time, she even claimed that she “came from the working class” and “was never going to forget where she came from.” Well, no, you didn’t, that’s a lie. Your mother was a scientist, and your father was a college professor. That’s not “working class.” So, to claim that is just disgraceful — and is that a Tiffany necklace that she’s wearing and touching as she says that? What a disaster.
But more importantly, that’s not an answer. And since Harris is the one who helped drive up prices, to begin with, she’s responsible for everything costing more. How is she going to fix what she broke? She didn’t say.
Harris claimed “inflation was down” when it came in hotter than expected. And it’s still more than it was when former President Donald Trump was in office.
Kamala and Joe Biden drove it up over 9 percent.
Then someone actually asked her about the “coup” and Joe Biden being shoved aside. The man also said he was leaning toward Trump. He wanted her to clarify the process of how she became the nominee.
She claimed Joe Biden made a decision that she thought “history would show” was “courageous.” “He decided to put country above his personal interests,” she said. She mentioned how she had been “partners” with him for this time occupying office. She said she was “honored to have earned the Democratic nomination,” but that’s the problem; she didn’t have one primary vote from the American people to be their nominee for president. So no, she didn’t “earn” it. What was funny was she then claimed to have the support of Republicans Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney as though that would influence anyone. None of that dealt with going around the will of the American people and the primary vote.
What she didn’t do was acknowledge how Biden was shoved aside despite the people’s vote because Democrats thought he was going to lose and how they and she have been dishonest about Biden’s cognitive decline.
Harris lied about Trump again, talking about Project 2025 and claiming that Trump said he would “terminate the Constitution.” That, of course, is a lie; Trump has nothing to do with Project 2025. It’s even more offensive when she talks about weaponizing the justice system when it’s Trump who has been the one who has been targeted.
She basically admitted that it was “unprecedented” that Biden was shoved aside to try to beat Trump. Yeah, sorry, guys, we’re throwing democracy under the bus to “save democracy.” Not going to buy that one.
But some people noticed something else about the town hall that was pretty hilarious.
Was this a teleprompter? That, of course, went viral.
You can see it displaying words, but as the camera continues to pan and shows it, then it seems to disappear.
The host, Enrique Acevedo, claimed that “the prompter displayed my introduction (in Spanish), and then it switched to a timer. Any claim to the contrary is simply untrue.”
Post a picture of the text so it’s definable with her in the picture.
Her answers were so bad, whatever the case, it didn’t help.

So once again, she can’t even get through a town hall without lying, failing to give answers, and having yet another controversy.
