The Biden-Harris administration is facing criticism for its response to Hurricane Helene and over the last couple of days, it’s been out trying to push back against the criticism that it’s been calling “misinformation.”
Joe and Jill Biden had “Good Morning America” tweet out a post on X about how the government has your “back,” if you have been affected. That was about a week-and-a-half after the hurricane hit the area–a little late. Then calling any questions about the WH’s response “misinformation” is also not going over well.
So, Kamala is apparently trying to show her concern. She was part of a Zoom meeting over the preparations for Hurricane Milton. But things went south when she didn’t realize her mic was live; she tried to ask her aide for help and got caught on the hot mic.

Joe and Jill Biden Finally Deliver Remarks on Hurricane Helene – the Reaction Does Not Go Well
She then called in to CNN and the Weather Channel.
CNN asked her if FEMA had enough resources, since DHS head Alejandro Mayorkas had said they wouldn’t have the money beyond Hurricane Helene. He amended that to “through Milton,” but wasn’t sure about afterward.
Kamala’s answer was they had enough for the “aftermath.” So, that seemed unclear and at odds with what Mayorkas said. Is she spreading “misinformation” about it?
Then Dana Bash tried to ask about Iran and Israel, saying she understood that Harris and Biden had spoken to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. The anchor asked Kamala whether she could say anything about whether there would be a response to Iran’s attack on Israel last week.
So, here’s the thing. She may have said this just because she’s ignorant and doesn’t realize that she can talk about calls with foreign leaders. But if it’s classified because they have information about a potential attack, maybe she doesn’t want to be saying it’s “classified.” Did she just tip off an attack? Biden himself may have with this. He hadn’t spoken to Netanyahu because he hadn’t needed to. Then suddenly he talks to him, and she says it’s “classified.”
Harris refused to comment on the question of an active duty Commander to lead federal response:
She refused to comment, again, probably not prepped for such a question.
But then she went on The Weather Channel, and it really went off the rails with her ignorance.
She clarified they would need more money from Congress after Milton. But she claimed it was because the budgets were “constructed around a bygone time,” and said hurricanes were getting worse, without giving evidence. What?
I don’t even understand what she’s talking about here. Money through FEMA has always been passed based on need. So, what does a “bygone time” have to do with anything?
She’s asked about homeowners insurance and, again, she has no answer; she just gives “filler.”
But perhaps the most Kamala of the responses was her effort to explain hurricanes. Here’s Kamala, the hurricane expert, providing a hurricane word salad.
She actually says that they shouldn’t be focusing on whether it’s been downgraded because the possible damage is about the same.
Um, there’s a reason for upgrading and downgrading. How about you let the experts explain what people should be doing and paying attention to, rather than you, who knows nothing about hurricanes? Is she advocating misinformation when she tells people not to focus on a downgrade? It’s about the danger and people being safe, and they have to be as transparent as possible. Then too, she sounds like she’s talking to children as opposed to Floridians, who likely know far more than she does about how to deal with hurricanes. DeSantis said she hadn’t ever called for any prior storm, so this press is all about the election.
Why is the Weather Channel putting her on, rather than simply concentrating on the news and the experts?
