It’s the end of an era for actor Josh Radnor, who is letting go of the 1920s Spanish-style LA home that he’s lived in for five years. The How I Met Your Mother star got married in January and is listing his serene bachelor pad, which AD toured last year, for $3.85 million. The four-bedroom, three-bathroom abode, located in LA’s Los Feliz neighborhood, spans 4,000 square feet. Many of its charming original features, including colorful tiles, wooden ceiling beams, and arched doorways, remain intact. “It’s both grand and cozy all at the same time, which I always thought was kind of a magic trick the house pulled off,” Radnor tells AD via email. “I loved that it felt like an oasis away from the chaos of the world.”

One of the dwelling’s most striking period details is a hand-stenciled coffered ceiling in the double-height foyer. An iron candlestick-style chandelier hanging from the center lights the terra-cotta tiled floor below.

Radnor hired designer Kishani Perera to decorate with an emphasis on those special historic features. The kitchen, for example, boasts a hand-painted Mediterranean terra-cotta tiled backsplash, which Perera carefully selected to blend in with the home’s original style; blue-green cabinets, a farmhouse sink below a trio of sunny windows, and stainless steel appliances round out the space. Nearby, the formal dining room’s French doors spill out to a secluded backyard patio.
