The New Orleans Pelicans and point guard Jose Alvarado agreed to a tw0-year, $9 million contract extension, his agent told The Athletic. The deal includes a player option for the 2026-27 season, the second year of the deal.
Alvarado, 26, was set to become a free agent in 2025 and play the upcoming season on a player option just under $2 million.
The Georgia Tech product has spent three seasons with the Pelicans after the team signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2021. Alvarado averaged 7.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 56 games as a key bench player last season.
