Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) continues to make the media rounds, intent on becoming a larger mouthpiece for the Democratic Party.
On Wednesday, the far-left congresswoman described a majority of Americans as “uneducated” for supporting President Donald Trump’s agenda. Then, on Thursday, while appearing on “The Breakfast Club,” Crockett proclaimed she was rooting for other nations to win any trade wars against the United States.
She wasn’t done with her vote outreach, though. On Sunday, Crockett went on MSNBC to discuss the supposed “anger” at Elon Musk over recent government cutbacks. Her commentary was, in a word, delusional.
CROCKETT: The real problem for Democrats is communication, because conservatives have a “disinformation ecosystem.”
“X is owned by Elon…So there’s an actual ecosystem that pumps out this disinformation consistently.”

CROCKETT: Well, we are talking about what we are going to do, and we are talking about what we are doing, but a matter of amplifying those things is a lot more difficult, and I think those of us that sit in Congress have to figure out what is really the best way for us to communicate, and we’ve got to settle into that and recognize that not everyone is gonna sit on a podcast, not everyone is gonna be social media savvy, but they are going to have to find their communication lane, and so, I do think it is something that we struggle with.
We know right now, we obviously have X is owned by Elon. We’ve also got, you know, the other news network that I won’t name and some other things so there’s an actual ecosystem that pumps out this disinformation consistently on behalf of them.
A Democrat blaming “disinformation” for their political woes isn’t exactly novel, but Crockett’s claim is simply a euphemism for a much nastier assumption about Americans. Namely, you are just too stupid to understand how awesome left-wing policy proposals are, and if it weren’t for you being such an idiot who so easily falls for “disinformation,” you’d be rushing to the polls to pull the lever for the Democratic Party.

You see, it’s not that the prescriptions espoused by Crockett and her colleagues have been harmful to the United States. It’s not that the border was overrun under the Biden administration. It’s not that inflation was never tamed under the last four years of Democrat rule. It’s not that American foreign policy bottomed out, with our adversaries ascendent and becoming increasingly aggressive. No, it was just you falling for “disinformation.”
That has been the argument made by Democrats for years on end, and it’s a bad one, not just in terms of convincing voters, but in terms of helping the Democratic Party recover. The first step to fixing something is admitting it needs to be fixed. When Crockett and others instead blame “disinformation,” they are suggesting their problems are wholly caused by ineffective messaging.
I find that contention to be ludicrous. Democrats have massive mouthpieces within the legacy press. They also have access to the same social media resources that Republicans do. Musk is not censoring Democrat politicians on X, and if anything, Democrats enjoy special protection for their views on other social media sites. I still can’t go on Instagram or TikTok, for example (not that I would), and tell you a man can’t become a woman.
There is no messaging issue for Democrats. It’s a policy issue because Americans are smart enough to know what is good for them and what is bad for them. Continuing to insult their intelligence by pretending free speech is the problem isn’t a path back to prominence. It is a surefire way to ensure the Democratic Party continues to enjoy approval ratings in the 30 percent range.
