It’s Official—McDonald’s Is Bringing Back This Cult-Favorite Menu Item for the First Time in 8 Years

It’s been a big year for McDonald’s. The fast food burger joint has launched hit after hit including the Big Arch Burger and the Chicken Big Mac. Plus, the Chicago-based chain has clearly been on a mission to give our wallets some relief, offering plenty of meal deals and even the new McValue platform, which we can expect to see roll out early next year.

Recently, the chain said it is focused on rebuilding customer trust and drawing fans back to the Golden Arches following the deadly E.coli outbreak after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) declared it officially over on Dec. 3.

Now, McDonald’s is looking to the future and making plans for how it will serve customers in the upcoming year, and one way it’s doing this is by bringing back one of the fans’ most requested menu items.

McDonald’s Snack Wraps are Returning in 2025

In a recent interview with Good Morning America, Joe Erlinger, the president of McDonald’s USA, revealed that the chain will be bringing back its beloved Snack Wraps in 2025. For those unfamiliar, McDonald’s Snack Wraps were launched in 2006 and became an instant hit among fans. The original Snack Wrap featured a strip of grilled or crispy chicken wrapped in a flour tortilla. The wraps included shredded lettuce, cheese, and a choice of sauce including Ranch, Chipotle BBQ, and Honey Mustard.

Instagram’s @Snackolator broke the news to fans, reporting, “This is not a drill: Snack Wraps are coming BACK to McDonald’s in 2025!” After receiving confirmation from McDonald’s, they added, “Yes, this is real. Yes, in the USA.”

Instagrammer @SnackBetch also shared the news in a recent post, and many quickly took to the comments to join in the excitement. “Should’ve never left. Chipotle, please and thx,” wrote one fan. “Yasss, finally the grilled honey mustard, I hope,” added another.

However, not all are convinced the returning menu item will meet their expectations. “And it’s not a chicken tender?”, wrote one skeptical commenter upon noticing that the chicken appears to be a cut piece rather than a full tender. “Better be made with the chicken selects, I don’t want a ‘McChicken cut in half’ snack wrap,” added another user whose comment received nearly 200 likes.

While we don’t know when they will make their grand appearance on menus, we can guarantee we’ll be some of the first in line to try the returning wraps. Can’t wait till next year? You can always whip up a homemade snack wrap with your favorite air-fried chicken tenders.
