Gisele Bündchen and Joaquim Valente are preparing to welcome their first baby together — and he already has the approval of her two older children.
“Her kids really like him,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly about how son Benjamin, 14, and daughter, Vivian, 11 — whom Bünchen shares with ex-husband Tom Brady — feel about Valente coming into their life, adding that Valente has been “living at [Bündchen’s] house in Miami for while.”
The insider told Us that Bündchen, 44, is “head over heels” with Valente, noting that her “friends haven’t seen her like this before,” telling Us, “Their chemistry together has always been there and they have a lot in common. They’ve been in love for a while.” (Bündchen is also stepmom to Brady’s 17-year-old son Jack, whom he shares with ex Bridget Moynahan.)
It was reported on Monday, October 28, that Bündchen and Valente, 35, are expecting their first child together, Bündchen’s third. “Gisele and Joaquim are happy for this new chapter in their life and they’re looking forward to creating a peaceful and loving environment for the whole family,” a source told People at the time.
Valente and the supermodel have been dating since 2023, though the duo previously worked together on a photo shoot for Dust magazine in 2021. Valente eventually became Bündchen’s jiu-jitsu instructor. In February, a separate insider exclusively told Us that the couple were friends first before their romance blossomed.
“Joaquim was there for Gisele through her divorce, as a friend, and they turned romantic this past summer,” the source shared at the time, adding that the pair have “similar lifestyles” and are both “dedicated to fitness and nutrition.” The insider also noted, “Gisele also loves being with someone who is from Brazil, they both have a shared history that she hasn’t had with anyone she’s dated.”
Speaking with The New York Times in March, Bündchen admitted that her relationship with Valente was uncharted territory for her. “This is the first time I am seeing someone that was a friend of mine first,” she shared. “It’s very different. It is very honest, and it’s very transparent.”
In the same interview, Bündchen vehemently denied rumors that she had cheated on Brady, 47, with Valente, as she had first met the jiu-jitsu instructor while she was still married to her ex-husband.
“That is a lie,” she told the outlet. “This is something that happens to a lot of women who get blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful. They have to deal with their communities. They have to deal with their family. Of course for me, it just happens to be a little bit amplified.”
Bündchen did not offer specifics when asked why she and Brady went their separate ways, saying, “No one really knows what happens between two people, only the two people in the relationship.”
Bündchen and Brady announced their split after 13 years of marriage in October 2022. At the time, the former NFL player shared that they had “arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.”
“We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way,” he wrote via Instagram at the time. “We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve.”
