If You Need Further Proof That Democrats Will Go to Any Lengths to Damage Trump, This Is It

In this episode of “Justice Be Damned, Full Speed Ahead With Lawfare”…

Unsurprisingly, House Judiciary Committee Democrats are pressing already-disgraced Attorney General Merrick Garland to release a report detailing Donald Trump’s mishandling of classified documents.

According to a report by Politico, Democrats are urging Garland to release a second report on Trump’s alleged mishandling and concealment of said documents — even if it means dropping charges against the soon-to-be president’s alleged accomplices — proving yet again that TDS-riddled Democrats will go to any lengths to sabotage (or destroy) Trump as he begins his second term in office.

Ranking member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD.), one of the most partisan hacks in the House, wrote in a letter obtained by Politico:

It is essential that the American people and Congress understand how Mr. Trump mishandled our nation’s most sensitive classified information, especially because he will be sworn in as Commander-in-Chief and take leadership of our national security apparatus in just five days.

Nonsense — and Raskin knows it.

The November election results stuck a fork in the Democrats’ near-maniacal, years-long obsession with toppling Trump.

Think about it. Dishonest Democrats from Nancy Pelosi to Adam Schiff to Chuck Schumer and beyond tried everything they could think of to torpedo Trump. From two ridiculous impeachment show trials to multiple lawsuits to now-former Special Counsel to the Justice Department, Jack Smith, to disgraced Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney General Fani Willis, all to no avail.

Other than to aid in propelling Trump to a historic win, that is.

Here’s more on the House Democrats’ pressure on Garland:

The Democrats’ call came just days after Garland signaled he intended to maintain the secrecy of Smith’s report on the President-elect’s classified documents case, in part to protect the integrity of the ongoing criminal case against Trump’s former co-defendants, Walt Nauta and Carlos DeOliveira.

Florida-based U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon tossed the case out in July, ruling that Smith was illegally appointed. The Justice Department was seeking to reinstate the charges when Donald Trump won the November election, forcing Smith to dismiss the case against Trump while he worked to reinstate the charges against Nauta and DeOliveira. Trump’s Justice Department is slated to inherit the case next week, and allies expect it to be quickly shelved.

The report is expected to detail Smith’s decision to charge Trump for “hoarding a massive trove of military secrets at his Mar-a-Lago estate,” and then attempt to hide them from federal officials seeking to reclaim them. Democrats have long viewed that case against Trump as among his most significant political vulnerabilities.

Smith wrote in a much-anticipated report released on Tuesday that he stands fully behind his decision to bring criminal charges that he believes would have resulted in a conviction of Trump for his “unprecedented criminal effort” related to his alleged involvement in the January 6, 2023, Capitol riot.

The throughline of all of Mr. Trump’s criminal efforts was deceit — knowingly false claims of election fraud — and the evidence shows that Mr. Trump used these lies as a weapon to defeat a federal government function foundational to the United States’ democratic process.

“On the day I was appointed,” Smith wrote, explaining:

I pledged that I would exercise independent judgment, follow the best traditions of the Department of Justice, and conduct my work expeditiously and thoroughly to reach whatever outcome the facts and law dictated.

Do you suppose Smith wrote that line with a straight face or that he laughed out loud?
