Democrats are now trying to ramp up the protests against President Donald Trump, focusing on Elon Musk, DOGE and the effort to clean up government. They’re falsely painting it as some kind of takeover of the government (which would be hard to do when Trump is the duly-elected leader),
and claiming somehow Musk is ripping off Grandpa’s Social Security, despite the fact that Musk doesn’t have the ability to do any such thing.
They also are calling their typical protest arms for support, from groups like MoveOn.
Among the crazy moments of the protest they had outside the Treasury on Tuesday was this wild moment from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, 78, holding up 86-year-old Rep. Maxine Waters’ hand, chanting “We will win!”

As we reported, the protest (and probably that moment) was just too much even for CNN; the panel just started laughing with how inept it all was. Even Abby Phillip was laughing, and Bakari Sellers joined in the mocking.

Bottom line? They couldn’t figure out who the leader of the Democrats is, and thought Schumer’s performance was lame. And they’re right. What did he “win,” besides worst acting award? Then too, they were agitating for more people to come out in the streets, and said things that sounded like threats including that this is “war.”
Now there’s even a Democrat calling Schumer out. Former Rep. Tim Ryan represented Ohio in the House for about 20 years, leaving in 2023. He ran for the Senate and lost…to JD Vance in 2022. You may remember when he ran for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020. He may become the Democratic candidate for governor of Ohio against Vivek Ramaswamy in 2026 as well.
I think it’s fair to say that he was not impressed with the performance of Schumer and these folks, as he lamented the state of the Democratic Party.

He’s right. But the Democrats are in such confusion, you don’t have enough people calling them out.
It would make any moderate think the Democrats are nuts, and so much of what they said at the protest isn’t true. At this point, if you’re someone in the middle you probably already think Democrats are insane. They’re already sitting at incredibly bad unfavorable numbers in polling. This just reinforces it, and many won’t go near them with a ten-foot pole.

Ryan gets there’s a big problem with where the party is these days; at least he’s wiling to say it.
Unfortunately, the Democrat Party doesn’t have anyone in leadership now with any sense to right the ship, so they’re just continuing to going under, with the weight of the craziness.
