New York’s West Village, known for its trendy dining spots like Le B. and Sant Ambroeus, is also a favoured locale for Hollywood elites, including two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank.

However, this historic district is about to lose one of its star residents, as Swank has listed her luxurious pied-à-terre for US$6.6 million, according to the Robb Report.

The actress, best known for her roles in Freedom Writers and Million Dollar Baby, purchased the condo in 2009 for about US$3.65 million.

After unsuccessful attempts to sell it in 2022 and 2023 for US$7.25 million, Swank is trying her luck again.

The condo is part of the Superior Ink development, designed by the esteemed architect Robert A.M. Stern in 2009.

Located on the 16th floor, the 133sq m residence offers unobstructed views of iconic New York landmarks, including the Empire State Building and the Hudson River.

The sophisticated unit features two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with Chris Kann and Jennifer Ireland of The Corcoran Group managing the listing.

Inside, the condo boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and a Juliet balcony that provides picturesque views of the surrounding rooftops.

The main living area is highlighted by chevron flooring, reclaimed wood accent walls, and arched window frames.

The custom kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, including a gas-range stovetop and a stainless-steel oven, complemented by a large island.

The primary bedroom, though not particularly large, compensates with plush silk carpeting and stunning views of the West Village.

It includes a dressing area, a walk-in closet, and a spa bath with a waterfall shower and a soaking tub.

The secondary bedroom, located opposite a laundry closet, provides guests with their own bath.

This moody, black-themed room doubles as a home office and study, featuring built-in floating shelves and modern light fixtures.

Swank’s condo, the highest two-bedroom unit in the building before the penthouse, offers residents access to a range of amenities.

These include a gym, yoga and Pilates studio, party room with kitchen, screening room, bike storage room, and full-time doorman and concierge services.

An on-site garage with valet parking adds to the building’s appeal.
