One of the most significant things that President-elect Donald Trump will employ is the Department of Government Efficiency under the leadership of X owner Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. It’s going to operate as an advisory body to audit the entire federal government. Among the things they will be doing will be eliminating waste and unnecessary regulations and streamlining the government.

That would not just result in a ton of savings, but more freedom and growth.
This of course isn’t going to make the Democratic establishment happy because they want to spend their brains out and have a permanently encroaching bureaucracy.
But one leftist lawmaker expressed agreement with Elon Musk on at least some of it in an astonishing tweet. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) — the guy usually screaming his head off against billionaires — said, “Elon Musk is right.”
Elon Musk is right.
The Pentagon, with a budget of $886 billion, just failed its 7th audit in a row. It’s lost track of billions.
Last year, only 13 senators voted against the Military Industrial Complex and a defense budget full of waste and fraud.
That must change.

That agreement prompted many to wonder if hell was freezing over. Now, of course, it’s the military, which is why Bernie is focused on it, but they maybe even more than some other departments need to answer up as to how they are spending their money and where it’s all going. If they can’t, that’s a problem. And no one has been holding them accountable. This should be something everyone should support, but Democrats who have built up the bureaucracy and the administrative state will probably be against it because it might impact their power and control.
