The Announcement:

The grant was presented this week to five Tasmanian Tigers blind cricket players and their coach at the Cornelian Bay Oval training session by Harcourts representative Dan Winston.

The funding will support the team through Inclusive Innovations Tasmania, the organisation behind Blind Cricket Tasmania, which ensures individuals living with disabilities are well-represented and fully included in sporting opportunities.

Harcourts Tasmania CEO Tony Morrison expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative.

“We are beyond thrilled to see how this contribution will empower the team at such a prestigious national tournament,” Mr Morrison said.

“The Tiger’s determination, skill, and teamwork exemplify the core values Harcourts stands for. We’re honoured to be part of their incredible journey.”

The team, sporting their distinctive green, yellow and red representative uniforms, represents not just exceptional sporting talent but also the broader vision of an inclusive, supportive community.

Tasmanian Foundation Ambassador Belinda Dowde shared her support for the team.

“Good luck to the team and thanks to Dan Winston of Harcourts Hobart for presenting the ‘big cheque’. Go Tigers!!” Ms Dowde said.

The National Cricket Inclusion Championships brings together blind, deaf, and intellectually impaired cricket teams from across Australia, celebrating skill, sportsmanship, and determination.

This support aligns with the Harcourts Foundation’s mission to deliver grants that provide meaningful support to people and projects in need, ensuring measurable results that align with Harcourts’ values.
