Haiven Property expands its reach in Perth

Award-winning independent Perth agency Haiven Property is getting set to open a new location in Applecross, amidst another year of strong growth for the business.

Haiven Property currently operates in North Beach but is set to open the second location south of the river in the coming weeks.

The expansion is part of a broader strategy to diversify the agency’s market reach.

“We’ve always been a coastal property specialist focusing on the upper end of the market,” Managing Director Sean Hughes said.

“We wanted to expand our footprint over Perth and have a diverse market.

“There’s a huge demand in Western Australia at the moment for boutique, nimble companies that can respond to the community and consumers in a quicker fashion.”

The Applecross office will be headed up by Mr Hughes and his business partner Shane Beaumont.

Both are high-performing agents in their own right, with the duo writing over $6 million in GCI between them.

The office was recently named the top medium office in Western Australia for the fifth consecutive year at the industry awards.

The new Applecross office will feature a mix of experienced agents and newcomers to the industry.

Mr Hughes believes this blend creates an ideal learning environment.

“To be in and around high-performing people on a daily basis and actually see and implement what they’re doing in an open architectural sort of way – that’s the big thing,” he said.

Mr Hughes said operating as an independent agency is a strategic one.

While traditional agencies often prioritise the company brand over individual agents, Mr Hughes has flipped this model.

“The way we’ve approached it is customer first, then agent second, and brand third,” he said.

“We’re promoting the agent as the brand and as the hero.”

With plans to expand to 100 staff by year’s end, Haiven Property is positioning itself to continue to grow.

Mr Beaumont thinks the new location will be particularly attractive to high-performing agents looking for more opportunities for growth.

“We thought it’d be a great opportunity to have more expansion south of the river, as opposed to just north, because we do have talented agents all over Perth,” Mr Beaumont said.

“We want to attract like-minded talent.

“Not just guys that are writing big numbers, but people who buy into the culture that we’re trying to achieve.

“Not everyone’s going to write $5 million, but if we can all get better at whatever level you want to be at, be more efficient, have better systems in place, which ultimately help our clients get better results, that’s the major focus.”

For Mr Hughes, success comes down to understanding the local market dynamics.

“As much as we’d like to think we’re a big city like Dubai or Sydney, we’re still a bit of a country town and people still deal with people,” he said.

“We believe we’re tapping into that, and so far, it seems to be a real winning formula.”
