Now that Gwyneth Paltrow’s custom-built mansion in Santa Barbara’s posh seaside Montecito enclave has finally come to fruition, the actress has decided to lighten up her portfolio.

According to The Robb Report, Paltrow has listed her longtime Los Angeles home in the Lower Mandeville area of Brentwood for nearly US$30 million.

This is a significant markup from the US$10 million that Paltrow and her ex-husband Chris Martin, the Coldplay frontman, paid for the 1950s estate back in the spring of 2012.

The Goop CEO extensively renovated the property, transforming it into a luxurious retreat.

The renovations included a one-bedroom guesthouse complete with a climate-controlled wine cellar, an office, a gym, a game room, and a movie theatre.

Additionally, there’s an apartment above the garage.

Nestled on a parcel spanning roughly two-thirds of an acre, the Windsor Smith-designed house is described in marketing materials as “Southern Transitional.”

It features eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms in a single-level living space, highlighted by reclaimed wood floors and patterned stonework throughout.

Notable features include a voluminous living room with French doors that open to a backyard with a plunge pool, a bookshelf-lined family room, and a gourmet kitchen equipped with an eat-in island, a breakfast nook, double cooktops and rangehoods, and a wood-burning oven.

The secluded primary wing offers dual baths, adding to the residence’s appeal.

Paltrow has shared this home with her husband, writer-producer Brad Falchuk, since their marriage in 2018.

The couple, who have four grown children between them, now plan to split their time between their homes in Montecito and Amagansett, NY, while also considering a potential new dwelling in LA.
