Former NFL cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was arrested early Saturday morning on multiple charges in Arlington, Texas, following the boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, Arlington Police Department confirmed to The Athletic.

Jones was booked into Arlington City Jail on one count of assault on a peace officer, one count of public intoxication, one count of evading and one count of resisting arrest, police said.

Just after 1:00 a.m. local time, Jones got into a fight in the bar area of the “Live! by Loews” hotel — located 0.5 miles from AT&T Stadium, the location of the Tyson-Paul bout. An Arlington police officer working an off-duty shift at the hotel was notified of the fight by hotel security and arrived at the scene to find Jones and the individuals involved separated, police said.

The police said Jones “continued approaching and yelling at the others involved.” The officer then stepped in between the individuals and told Jones that if he tried to continue fighting, he would be arrested.

Another fight involving Jones occurred in the bar area shortly thereafter. While the officer and hotel security tried to break it up, Jones “hit the officer on her arm,” police said. The officer then told Jones she was placing him under arrest.

The officer called for backup, and while she was attempting to place Jones in handcuffs, he got free and started walking away. The other officers arrived and helped take him into custody, police said.

Jones was a first-round pick by the Tennessee Titans in the 2005 NFL Draft. Over his 13-year career with the Titans, Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos, the cornerback and return specialist totaled 508 tackles, 96 passes defended, 17 interceptions and two touchdowns. He returned a combined 317 kickoffs and punts for 5,176 yards and five scores. Jones was suspended multiple times throughout his career for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
