First National Real Estate (FN) has handed out its General Excellence and Marketing Awards at the network’s National Convention, at Malaysia’s Grand Hyatt in Kuala Lumpur.

Taking the top office awards were FN Cleveland (Qld), which was announced Magnificent 7 – Number One Sales Office of the Year, and FN Hedland (Port Hedland, WA) which was announced Magnificent 7 – No.1 Investor Relations Management Office of the Year.

Topping the individual awards was Melissa Starkey, FN Surfers Paradise (Qld), who took home Magnificent 7 – No.1 Investor Relations Manager of the Year; Amy Doran, FN Hedland (Port Hedland, WA), who won Magnificent 7 – No.1 Business Development Manager of the Year, and Ethan He, FN JXRE (Clayton, Vic) who received Magnificent 7 – No.1 Salesperson of the Year.

The winner of the network’s highest honour, The Kaye Heath Memorial Award, was David Forrest of FN Cairns Central, in recognition of his many years of work on QLD Regional Council and the National Board.

Director at First National Cleveland, Ryan McCann, was also named as one of the winners of the Magnificent 7 Salesperson awards and said it was an honour for his office to be named number one in the country.

“We’re over the moon,” Mr McCann said.

“We’re not the biggest office in Australia, but we finished first in Australia.

“It’s been nine years of trying and it’s always been the goal since we started in 2015.”

Mr McCann said he was also incredibly pleased with the team being recognised.

“It’s a collective effort,” he said.

“We had two agents in the top eight, I was fifth and Bianca Stubbs was eighth and we were one and two in QLD.

“Everyone contributed and I’m really proud of the guys.”

Mr McCann said he was also honoured to receive a message from Chris Hanley from First National Byron Bay after the win.

“We came second, three years in a row to Byron Bay,” he said.

“They’re a magic office and one of the best performers over a long period of time.

“I got a text from Chris congratulating me and that really sums up what First National is all about.”

Mr McCann said being at the National Convention was a great opportunity to network and learn from the best agents in the industry and it was good to see some of the other states scooping up awards.

“I was really happy for the WA offices,” he said.

“They were doing it tough when you look back five years ago and now every second award felt like it was going to a WA office.

“Port Hedland and the mining towns are absolutely booming and that really shows through with all the awards.”

National Chairman, Rob Westwood, said it was incredible to witness the enthusiasm of the network’s agents in Malaysia.

“To see some 330 of our salespeople, property managers and administrators here in Kuala Lumpur for our convention, as well as to celebrate the network’s collective success, is always uplifting,” Mr Westwood said.

“We are better together as connected independents and the genuine spirit of cooperation that defines our difference always shines through at our awards nights.”
