On Friday, FBI Director Kash Patel took to his official X account to condemn the increasingly frequent practice of “Swatting,” or making false calls to law enforcement, resulting in the possibly very dangerous deployment of special units.
I want to address the alarming rise in ‘Swatting’ incidents targeting media figures. The FBI is aware of this dangerous trend, and my team and I are already taking action to investigate and hold those responsible accountable.
This isn’t about politics—weaponizing law enforcement…

This isn’t about politics—weaponizing law enforcement against ANY American is not only morally reprehensible but also endangers lives, including those of our officers. That will not be tolerated.
We are fully committed to working with local law enforcement to crack down on these crimes.
More updates to come.
This is a serious matter that should transcend politics, although we must also note that most of these incidents are initiated by the left. But some things are wrong in essence, and making a false report to law enforcement that could result in completely innocent people, not to mention their family members, being injured or killed – that’s one of those things. And the rate of these incidents seems to be picking up.

These are not only criminal acts; they are arguably acts of terrorism and should be charged accordingly. This goes far beyond the false reporting issue. These are actions intended to intimidate or even injure persons for political motivations, which is the very definition of terrorism, and it would seem one could add attempted murder to that as well. What’s more, if people are coordinating these false calls, it would seem a RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) investigation would be on the plate as well.
No matter what the political motivations are here on either side, this is the kind of thing that must not be tolerated. We have already seen how sudden incursions of law enforcement can be potentially dangerous, even when directed at the wrong people.

Kash Patel has a big job ahead of him. But it’s a near-certainty that he’ll find time to deal with these swatting incidents – hopefully under one of the possible charges noted above.
