The Announcement:

Local real estate veterans Steve and Reuben Davis have established Harcourts Katanning & Districts, marking a significant expansion for the brand in Western Australia’s Great Southern region.

The father-son team brings generations of local knowledge to their new venture, with Steve Davis’s real estate career dating back to the late 1980s when he won a REIWA Best Selling Agent award in his first year.

After spending time traveling the world and working in retail, Mr Davis senior returned to the area, joining a local real estate firm which he later purchased after two years.

His son Reuben’s entry into real estate came through a different path. What started as a suggested gap year working alongside his father has turned into a four-year career in the industry.

“Harcourts is a good country brand,” Mr Davis senior said.

“In touch with what’s going on in our area.”

The duo’s approach to business is collaborative, with both handling various aspects of the operation.

“We job-share all the roles – Property Management, Sales, and so on – it works well, supporting and learning at the same time,” Mr Davis senior said.

Their deep roots in the community, with Mr Davis senior having served on school boards and as a member of the Polo-Cross Club, positions them uniquely to understand the local market.

“There’s been changes in the area over the years of course, and we’ve been right among them,” he said.

“This allows us to offer a service that is relevant and up to the minute.”

Harcourts WA CEO Shane Kempton expressed enthusiasm about the new addition to the network.

“Their local knowledge gained over generations in the area, coupled with the technology and resources that Harcourts offers, means Harcourts Katanning & Districts will offer unparalleled client services and the finest experience in real estate,” Mr Kempton said.
