Fernando Alonso is a two-time Formula 1 world champion. As one of the best in the game — now and in the sport’s history — he’s on top of the racing world. But as great as he’s been on the track, his dating life has been just as prolific.
Alonso spent six years married to Spanish singer Raquel del Rosario during the height of her band El Sueño de Morfeo’s popularity. After the two split in 2011, he has dated everyone from models to TV hosts and journalists. He was even linked to Taylor Swift in 2023, after her breakup with Joe Alwyn.
When Swift released her 11th album, The Tortured Poets Department, in 2024, fans quickly drew a connection to Alonso in one of her lyrics. In the song “Imgonnagetyouback,” she sings, “I’m an Aston Martin that you steered straight into the ditch, then ran and hid.” Alonso drives for the Aston Martin team.
Alonso silently addressed the speculation via a TikTok video in April 2024. Aston Martin’s official account posted a video of him scrolling on his iPad while the song played in the background. When the lyric came up, he put a finger over his mouth.

Carolina Costa
Before meeting del Rosario, Alonso dated Costa from 2004 to 2005.
Raquel del Rosario
Alonso and del Rosario’s romance began in 2005, fresh off the driver’s first world championship. He invited El Sueño de Morfeo to perform at a concert to celebrate his title, and the two married a year later.
The pair kept their personal life private but released a joint statement when they separated in 2011.
“After five years of marriage, we have decided to end our relationship as a couple,” the statement read. “This has been a very thought about and mutual decision. We are separating from marriage, but never as friends, and there is still a very strong affection and mutual admiration to ensure the happiness of the other.”
Xenia Tchoumitcheva
The same year as his separation from del Rosario, Alonso had a brief relationship with Tchoumitcheva, a former Miss Switzerland runner-up.
Tchoumitcheva was one year away from being named Swiss Maxim’s Most Beautiful Woman in the world at the time. She later appeared in the rom-com Without Men with Eva Longoria and Christian Slater.
Dasha Kapustina
Alonso was less private during his relationship with Kapustina, which lasted from 2012 to 2014. The Russian model appeared with him at the German Grand Prix and British Grand Prix. The Daily Mail reported the two were also spotted on a yacht in Majorca, jet-skiing, kissing and enjoying time together.
Lara Alvarez
Alonso and Alvarez began dating in late 2014 and were engaged soon after. During their whirlwind 16-month romance, Alvarez was frequently seen cheering Alonso on at races. The two also were also routinely seen together in Dubai, where Alonso lived at the time.
It became clear, however, that the two had split when an eagle-eyed observer saw Alvarez at the gym without her engagement ring. The two seemingly had busy schedules that just weren’t compatible. While Alonso was on the F1 circuit, Alvarez was hosting the Spanish version of Survivor.
Viki Odintcova
Odintcova was linked to Alonso in 2016, but their time together was short-lived. The Russian model also had a romantic relationship with Lewis Hamilton. The two remain close, but as she said in 2020, Hamilton was “in the friend zone.”
Linda Morselli
Morselli and Alonso met at an F1 race in 2016 and went Instagram official in 2017. The couple spent five years together, with Morselli playing an integral role in Alonso’s recovery after he was hit by a car while on his bike in 2021. Alonso suffered a fractured jaw from the accident.
The two broke up in 2022 after five years together, brought on in part by Alonso’s sale of the struggling clothing company he and Morselli helped found.
Andrea Schlager
Alonso and Schlager, a Formula 1 reporter, met on the paddock in 2021 and began dating in 2022 after Alonso’s breakup with Morselli. The pair went Instagram official that May, posting photos together to their respective accounts.
After nearly a year together, the two broke up in early 2023. As both are prominent members of the F1 community, they released a joint statement at the time to announce their split.
“As you have probably seen, we have continued working on and off track on various projects together also during this time, and we will keep doing so with deep love and respect for each other,” they wrote.
Melissa Jimenez
Alonso and Jimenez, also an F1 journalist, don’t flaunt their relationship on social media, but they’ve been spotted together holding hands enough times for fans to be satisfied that they are dating.
Though they’ve never officially confirmed their relationship, Alonso hinted at it in a 2023 press conference when a reporter asked him what he would do if he were to stop driving.
“Journalist,” he replied with a wink.
