Hello and welcome to The Athletic’s live coverage from the final round of the 2024 Formula One world championship and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The drivers’ championship was all done in Las Vegas but boy is there a big title still in the offing, as McLaren and Ferrari bid to clinch this year’s constructors’ championship.

That’s the headline but given this is Formula One, I can promise you there will be plenty more narratives, politics and plot lines developing over the coming days too.

After all, did you hear about Thursday’s fun between Max Verstappen and George Russell?! (If not, don’t worry — we’ll bring you up to speed in here soon enough).

We’ll have all the context, color and updates you need from Yas Marina with our reporters trackside and experts watching on.

So stay turned, because we’ve got you covered from here.
