Eva Mendes is opening up about her experience with cosmetic procedures.
“I’m not afraid to try things that are safe, because most of these little treatments, let’s say, are reversible,” Mendes, 50, told The Sunday Times in a profile published on Sunday, October 20.
Mendes admitted that she has not always loved the Botox she has received. “If you get Botox, it goes away if you don’t like it,” she explained. “There have been times where I’ve regretted something … and then you just wait it out.”
While reflecting on her procedures, Mendes shared on Sunday that her confidence increases with a glance from her partner, Ryan Gosling. (Mendes and Gosling, 43, have been together since 2012 and share daughters Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 7.)
“I feel really f—ing sexy at times,” Mendes told the outlet. “The way my man looks at me is just … at times I’m like, ‘Oh, my God.’”
She continued, “That might not sit well with people, but so much of how I feel is a reflection of what he’s giving me. There’s so many things that can make me feel sexy and I’d say that I feel more sexy than not. I guess because I’ve never considered myself beautiful, but I’ve always felt very sexy.”
Through the years, Mendes has been candid about her procedures. In 2020, Mendes shared a look at her appointment with Dr. Mariana Vergara Hofstetter by uploading a selfie to Instagram with needles poking out of her neck.
“Oye! @marianalvergara has finally opened her own @beautyvillavergara,” she captioned the post. “This spa-home away from home is incredible! No office with bad fluorescent lighting. No sterile office vibe. This is my go to for all things beauty. A home where you can relax while being tortured by the best of the best.”
She added, “This is my happy place!”
Mendes explained that the treatment is called Mono-Threads, which increases collagen production and lifts sagging. “So excited to support her as a skilled beauty technician opening her own Latina owned business!” Mendes continued. “Pa’lante reina!”
Earlier that year, Mendes made headlines with her perfect reply to a user who suggested she was looking “old” in the comments section of her Instagram post.
“Yes your [sic] right. Thank God I’m getting old. That means I’m still here,” she wrote. “I’m gonna be 46 soon and grateful everyday that I’m aging. Was your comment suppose to be make me feel bad? It didn’t. It makes me feel grateful. So thank you for the reminder that I’m still here. ❤️❤️❤️.”
