To describe New York Times columnist Paul Krugman as “clueless” would be like describing The View co-host Joy Behar as “screechy.” Everyone knows that’s what they are, so the descriptor isn’t necessary.

That said, it’s worth emphasizing the point considering the amount of sycophantic defenders Krugman has out there, and also considering the fact that the same purported economist who has gotten so much wrong relating to economic matters actually won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 2008.

As we’ve reported before, Krugman lives in a total bubble, where reality is not allowed to penetrate. This was proved beyond a shadow of a doubt during the summer of 2020, when he proclaimed that the Antifa/Black Lives Matter-led riots that were taking place in Democrat-run cities like New York City were “non-existent” because he was able to go for morning runs in his upper-crust neighborhood without being accosted by “black-clad anarchists.”

He doubled down months later, declaring that “the people actually living in” the cities that had experienced rioting had not really experienced it:

In reality, given that GOP supporters believe that rampaging mobs burned and looted major cities — somehow without the people actually living in those cities noticing — getting them to see facts about something as abstract as the deficit is a hopeless cause

And speaking of facts, in light of the Columbia/Barnard/NYU campus pro-Hamas occupations, Krugman is being called upon to revisit this tweet from 2019, where – in response to criticism of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) antisemitic statements – Krugman, who is Jewish, said there was only one “brand” of antisemitism that scared him, and “it’s not on the left”:

My thought at the time was how bizarre a take it was for him to have. I mean, any “brand” of antisemitism can be threatening, no matter from which “side” it comes.

The small mob of Charlottesville torch-bearers was indeed a vile bunch, and sadly, several people got hurt and one was killed by a hateful random guy in the violence that took place during that march. This is what Krugman calls “right-wing antisemitism” even though the political right doesn’t condone antisemitism and doesn’t have a growing wing of elected officials and affiliated left-wing groups who routinely push antisemitic tropes and for the destruction of Israel.

I wrote at the time that if the Democrat Party didn’t take control over their antisemitic contingent, it was only going to get worse for Democrats and the Jewish community – and that is exactly what is playing out all across the country as we speak.

It is perhaps with that thought in mind that some Twitter netizens reminded Krugman of what he said back then, and asked him for an updated statement:

“Has this clown ever been right about anything?” wondered another, perhaps rhetorically.

The toothpaste can’t be stuffed back into the tube here.  The Democrats’ slow walk to mainstreaming antisemitism within their ranks, the early roots of which was the Congressional Black Caucus’s longtime association with Nation of Islam wacko Louis Farrakhan, is almost complete.

Far be it from me to tell Jewish Americans how to vote and think, but it just seems counter-productive to keep putting faith in the political party that has gone so far as to coddle pro-Hamas extremists in Michigan just because they want to win that state in November.

Think about it.
