Welp, embattled Joe Biden’s highly anticipated “Big Boy” press conference has come and gone. Waking up this morning in the aftermath of his “make or break” moment, a two-word question popped into my head: Now what?
The seeming bottom-line answer is “It depends on who you talk to.”
On one hand, there are those who say the mumbling, bumbling president bought more time, Thursday night, while others cite his NATO press conference as yet another example of why the cognitively declining 81-year-old has to go, and the sooner the better.

Among those reportedly trying to throw Biden is none other than former President Barack Obama and his merry band of “Obama bros” (several key operatives in his administration), and perhaps even former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
As RedState reported on Friday, Obama and Pelosi have both spoken privately about Biden’s cognitive decline, while CNN said the dynamic duo wants to “find a way out” of the cover-up scandal.
As we reported on Wednesday, “Obama bros” Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, and Tommy Vietor blasted Biden and his White House on Tuesday, dedicating the majority of their latest “Pod Save America” episode to the failing president’s humiliating performance in the June 27 presidential debate and in a subsequent interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos.

Enter, Obama’s former top aide David Axelrod, who on Thursday night took issue with Biden’s claim during the presser that “no one” and “no poll” is saying he cannot win in 2024.
Asked by a reporter whether he would reconsider dropping out of the race if his aides showed him data that Harris would fare better against Trump, Biden responded:
No, unless they came back and said, ‘There’s no way you can win.’ Me. No one’s saying that. No poll says that.
Axelrod was having none of it.
If what he said at the end of his presser is true, it sounds like Biden’s team has not been very candid with him about what the data is showing: the age issue is a huge and potentially insurmountable concern and his odds of victory are very, very slim.

Second, this was key in Axelrod’s post: “It sounds like Biden’s team has not been very candid with him about what the data is showing.”
As I reported on July 2, Politico (not exactly a conservative site) ran a disastrous article in which it said White House aides are “scared s******s” of Biden during briefings.
It’s like, ‘You can’t include that, that will set him off,’ or ‘Put that in, he likes that,’” said one senior administration official. “It’s a Rorschach test, not a briefing. Because he is not a pleasant person to be around when he’s being briefed. It’s very difficult, and people are scared s******s of him.”
According to the official, he “doesn’t take advice from anyone other than those few top aides, and it becomes a perfect storm because he just gets more and more isolated from their efforts to control it.”
