Trevoh Chalobah will have to wait to make his Crystal Palace debut after sustaining an abdominal injury in his first training session.
The 25-year-old defender joined Palace on a season-long loan from Chelsea on transfer deadline day.
However, the injury means he will miss his side’s game against Leicester City at Selhurst Park on Saturday and could also miss Palace’s following games against Queens Park Rangers in the League Cup on Tuesday and their next Premier League game against Manchester United next Saturday.

Glasner said: “He (Chalobah) injured his abdominal muscle in his first session with us. It’s a really strange injury. He’s also not available tomorrow. It won’t take very long. He’s questionable for QPR and Man United as well.”
Fellow Palace defender Chadi Riad is set for a spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury.
The 21-year-old, who joined the club from Real Betis during the summer transfer window, sustained the injury during Palace’s 4-0 League Cup victory over Norwich City in August.
“The doctor tells us it will take 8-12 weeks, so it will take a bit of time,” Glasner said. “We all thought it was worse at the beginning, but the ACL is not ruptured and that’s important.”
Brazilian attacker Matheus Franca is closing in on a return to training having not played since March due to a rib fracture.
