Hello to you all and welcome to The Athletic — specifically our live coverage of Crystal Palace taking on Arsenal.

No, you’re not having a bout of football deja-vu. And yes, we did all this on Wednesday night.

But that was the Carabao Cup quarter-final at Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal came from behind thanks to a Gabriel Jesus hat-trick and beat Palace to a spot in the semis, where they will now face Newcastle United.

This one however, is across the River Thames and on home turf for the Eagles as both sides look to bring in Christmas with a Premier League victory.

Does familiarity breed contempt? We’re already looking forward to finding out.
